Get Ready to Confetti!

Midway Thursday Threads next meeting will be February 14th!  We'll be having a sewing meeting featuring Noel Minneci teaching her confetti quilt.

Noel has suggested:

Bring your scrap bag to share.  It adds variety in your quilt and the results will be fabulous!
Seasons of Home has the muslin you'll need for the foundation.  Some have purchased "cheap" muslin at a discount store and were unhappy with the results when it was washed.  So, Noel has advised "good" muslin that will wash up nicely.

To prepare your muslin - wash and dry it to soften and pre-shrink.

You can use Jelly Rolls for your strips (although fat quarters or yardage is more economical) or get out that scrap bag and quilt for free!  The guestimate is 24 fat quarters for the lap size quilt, 2 yds for contrast block (aka main color - green shown above)  and 4 yds of muslin.  You will need 3/4 yd extra of your "main" color for the binding.

Supplies:  9", 12" or 15" square ruler for rotary cutting.  Must have a diagonal line.  Rotary Cutter with new blade; 12' or 24' long rotary ruler; Sewing machine with new needle:  Scissors, pins, neutral thread and thread to match main color blocks.
